The first large-scale drone delivery service is now taking off as Walmart customers across six states will be able to have their orders delivered within 30 minutes from across the sky. It is evident that the race to drone delivery is expanding, as seen with Papa Johns, who recently tested pizza delivery by drone. Soon enough, customers should expect to see pizzas flying through the sky.
Drone technology is advancing rapidly towards home delivery, and warehouses will need to begin rethinking their floor plans, packing, and shipping methods to accommodate more efficient supply chains. Although certain hurdles remain, such as concerns over safety, privacy, and cost, lawmakers and drone companies continue to prepare for launch.
